Your Stannp.com account now offers optional Two Factor Authentication (2FA) for added security.
Two factor authentication adds a second step when you login, which is to enter a code produced by a linked app on your phone.
How To Set Up 2FA
To activate this optional feature, first download either the Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator app to your phone.
On another device (not the phone you are authenticating) log in to your Stannp.com account and go to ‘My Settings‘ from the ‘Settings Menu’.
Under Two-step authentication you will see ‘2FA Service’. Change the drop down menu from ‘Off’ to ‘Google /Microsoft Authenticator’. The Stannp platform will show you a QR code that will look like this;
Scan the QR code with the authenticator app you downloaded earlier, and the app will give you a code. Enter the code it gives you into the ‘enter your authenticator code’ field and click the ‘Save Settings’ button, and you are all set up.
Using 2FA
When you login to the Stannp.com platform you will see an additional screen asking you to enter your authentication code;
Open your app and enter the code it shows you for Stannp. The codes change every 30 seconds; if the code changes while you are entering you will need to enter the new code instead.
Once you’ve entered the code you will be able to use your Stannp account as normal.
Removing 2FA
If you decide you no longer want to use two factor authentication you can easily remove it by going back to ‘My Settings‘ from the ‘Settings Menu’ and changing the ‘2FA Service’ drop down menu back to ‘Off’.
Note; If you are using two factor authentication and you no longer have access to the phone you synchronised with Stannp you will not be able to access your account.
If this is the case please contact us on contact@stannp.com or 01271 344507 and (once we have verified your identity) we will be able to remove the 2FA service from your account to allow you to log back in.
